NEW Casa Américo Sonante white wine, DOP Dão 2023

Casa Américo is a family-owned wine estate from Portugal’s Dão region, dedicated to expressing the elegance and authenticity of this historic terroir. Working with old vines and native grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro, the estate combines sustainable viticulture with minimal-intervention winemaking. The result is a refined range of wines that balance freshness, structure, and a true sense of place.

TASTING  NOTES

Soft yellow in colour, a perfumed aroma with tropical notes and country flowers aromas.  The palate has plenty of fruit, with a crisp acidity and a medium finish.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Wines made from Bical, Cerceal-branco, and Encruzado pair beautifully with a wide range of seafood-driven and Mediterranean dishes, thanks to their shared freshness, structure, and elegance. The bright acidity and saline edge of Cerceal-branco complement oysters, clams, grilled sardines, and lightly cured fish, while Bical adds versatility for grilled white fish, bacalhau, roast chicken, and vegetable dishes finished with olive oil and herbs. Encruzado brings depth and texture, making it ideal for creamy seafood rice, fish stews, risotto, poultry with mushrooms or cream, and aged Portuguese cheeses. Together, these grapes create white wines that shine alongside fresh, savoury flavorus, balancing richness while enhancing the natural sweetness of fish, shellfish, and refined Iberian cuisine.
